Increased Production at Swiss Fish Farm

The Swiss fish farm Valperca faced challenges with water quality in their recirculation system, which prevented them from producing fish at full capacity. By implementing the Primozone Ozone Water Treatment Solution, water quality improved within just a few days, allowing the farm to maximize production.
Located in the scenic Valais Valley, Valperca produces perch, a delicacy in Switzerland. The high market demand for perch, combined with limited wild supply, makes this fish highly valuable. Valperca has the capacity to produce up to 300 tons of perch per year.
“…the redox value increased instantly and after only a couple of days we had reached the desired water quality.”
In May 2010, Valperca contacted Primozone due to issues with the ozone system they had installed just months earlier. The previous system lacked sufficient capacity to maintain water quality for the designed fish volume. Water was not properly treated, redox values were too low, and the organic load in the tanks was too high, resulting in slower fish growth and limited production.
Objective
Reduce micropollutants in wastewater through ozonation and contribute to a safe and healthy environment for operators working on site.
“Together with Rheno AG, Primozone supply, install and commission ozone systems in a easy and safe way.”

By October 2010, Primozone delivered a customized Ozone Water Treatment System specifically for Valperca. Within a few days, the quality of the recirculating water improved significantly.
“The design of our old ozone system was not optimal, which meant that we did not get the desired cleanness of the water,” says Mr. R. Moser, manager at Valperca.
Primozone designed a complete solution tailored to Valperca’s needs, including an ozone generator, dissolution system, and reaction tanks. The system integrates seamlessly with redox meters, automatically controlling ozone levels. Upon installation, redox values increased instantly, and within days, the water reached optimal quality. Both delivery and installation went smoothly and on schedule.
“We are very pleased with Primozone and their Ozone Water Treatment System,” concludes Mr. R. Moser.
